About Us

Pacific Treatment Alternatives becomes Sound Pathways

For more than 50 years, we have been dedicated to creating a safe and supportive place for our clients to become self-reliant, sober, and successful.

We know that our work is collaborative – we are successful when we work together as a community to support people in need. We are thankful to our community partners, our donors, and our clients for walking this path with us every day.

Sound Pathways serves Snohomish County by providing wrap-around social services to at-risk community members addicted to drugs and alcohol with a focused purpose to reduce harm to our community and create safe pathways for suffering individuals to find healthy solutions to their problems and stop the cycle of abuse.

We aspire to give our clients and community hope for a better future.

To end substance abuse and generational trauma in Snohomish County.

Sound Pathways’ values are at the very heart of our work. Every action we take on behalf of our clients and every interaction we have with our clients is grounded in these core values.

Debbie Graham, Executive Director

A Letter from Our Executive Director

Welcome to Sound Pathways. Or rather, welcome back to Sound Pathways. As Pacific Treatment Alternatives we have been a part of the Snohomish community for more than fifty years. Our work in supporting at-risk families and individuals facing alcohol and substance use disorders is woven into the very fabric of this community.

With every passing year, we learn more about how to best serve our community and continue to grow and evolve as a social services agency. Part of our recent growth has been to examine how we represent ourselves to the public. And while the name Pacific Treatment Alternatives benefited us for many years, it no longer fully represents who we are and what we do…

…Our job is to create a safe and supportive place for our clients to become self-reliant, sober, and successful. We know that every client walks their own path to recovery, and we honor, support, and guide those individual paths.

Our new name Sound Pathways speaks to the journey each of our clients takes as they work toward recovery. It speaks to the journey our staff takes as they partner with our clients. And it speaks to the journey our community takes as they partner with us.

Our tagline A Way Forward shines a light on the optimism we feel for our clients. For the strength, respect, and hope we share with them on their journey.

While our name and look have changed, we remain steadfast in our mission to aspire to give our clients and community hope for a better future and our vision to end substance abuse and generational trauma in Snohomish County.

Throughout this new website, you can learn about the challenges our region faces in addressing substance use; explore the evidence-based programs and services that support our mission, and meet the people who bring our mission and vision to life every day.

We’ve also created exciting ways to engage with us including a convenient online donation portal and ready-made social media donor campaigns as well as updated volunteer opportunities.

We look forward to many more years of walking beside our clients and serving our community. Together, we will always find a way forward.

Thank you,
